STRUCTURAL STEEL ESTIMATOR

FABCO is a full-service steel fabricator, looking for an Estimator to join our fast-growing team in Woodburn, Oregon. Our state-of-the-art facility, combined with our highly skilled team and technological capabilities, allows us to perform a wide range of projects, from small to large.

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing construction plans, preparing estimates, and ensuring projects are completed within budget. Duties:

  • Analyze construction plans and specification to determine project costs

  • Prepare accurate and timely commercial steel cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment

  • Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing

  • Develop project budgets and cost control strategies

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure accurate estimates

  • Review and analyze contracts to understand project requirements

  • Interact with clients from the beginning of the estimates until the project has been completed

Skills:

  • Proficiency in construction estimating

  • Strong understanding of cost control principles

  • Knowledge of construction management practices

  • Ability to negotiate pricing with vendors and subcontractors

  • Project management skills to oversee multiple estimates simultaneously

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders


Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $63,032.00 - $80,000.00

Shift: 8 hour shift, Monday - Friday, In-person

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Clean up revised steel shop drawings

  • Modify CAD drawings to show proper dimensions and details for fabrication

  • Generate accurate cut lists from bills of material

  • Printing and distributing shop drawings

  • Schedule and assess workload to meet required deadlines

  • Generate, check and post CNC files to CNC plate machine

Requirements:

  • Ability to read, understand and interpret structural steel designs

  • Good working knowledge of metal fabrication processes, procedures, and shop drawings

  • Possess time-management skills

  • Have strong technical capacity

  • Have strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Be detail oriented and thorough

  • Must be able to work in Woodburn, OR office

  • Must be able to work Monday through Friday

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • Must have 2 years of related experience or college degree in related field

Pay: Starting at $25 - depending on experience
